"It's a recommendation... Hintayin na lang natin 'yung sa OP (Office of the President) issuance today," sabi ni Duque sa isang phone interview.

Unang inanunsiyo ngayong Martes ng umaga nina Duque, Department of Labor (DOLE) Sec. Silvestre Bello III at ng Department of Transportation (DOTr) na palalawakin ang travel ban sa 20 bansa mula December 30, 2020 hanggang January 15, 2021 dahil sa posibleng pagkalat ng bagong Coronavirus variant sa bansa.

Samantala, sa isang news briefing, pinayuhan ni Presidential Spokesperson Harry Roque ang publiko na maghintay sa ilalabas na mga guidelines mula sa Office of the President ngayong araw.

"What I understand now is the Office of the Executive Secretary is drafting guidelines that would conform to what the President said na walang Pilipino na nais umuwi na puwedeng pigilan," ani Roque.

"My office is the only one authorized to issue any information relating to COVID so, antayin n'yo pong mag-issue tayo ng anunsiyo kung epektibo na ang travel ban sa iba pang mga bansa sa may new variants...

It is honestly so stressful trying to keep up with all these sudden policy updates and announcements flying around right now. When you hear about potential changes and realize a definitive choice hasn't actually been locked in yet, it leaves everyone completely hanging. A lot of folks planning an upcoming trip or thinking about a long-awaited New Zealand tour are sitting on edge because nobody wants their itineraries completely thrown into chaos at the last second. Hopefully, the authorities step up soon and give everyone some clear, definitive answers instead of leaving us all guessing in the dark.
