Pinoy health workers, nakasama sa €1-B COVID care bonus ng German gov’t — DOLE

Nakatakdang mabenepisyuhan ang mga Filipino healthcare workers sa Germany na nagsilbi sa gitna ng COVID-19 pandemic mula sa COVID care bonus ng German government, ayon sa Department of Labor and Employment (DOLE).


Naglaan ang gobyerno ng Germany ng €1 billion para sa COVID care bonus, kung saan hahatiin equally ito sa mga nurse na nasa care homes at mga nurse sa mga ospital, ayon kay Labor Attaché Delmer Cruz ng Philippine Overseas Labor Office (POLO) sa Berlin sa kanyang report kay DOLE Secretary Silvestre Bello III.


“The initiative of Germany to reward the frontline workers including our very own for their service during the pandemic is really commendable. This will inspire all the more our healthcare workers in providing the brand of service that the Filipinos are known for even in the midst of crisis,” pahayag ni Bello.


Sinabi ng DOLE na ang mga healthcare workers na nakatalaga sa elderly care ay makatatanggap ng insentibo na naglalaro mula 60-550 Euros o P3,400-P31,000.


Kabilang sa mabebenepisyuhan nito ay mga nursing staff na nagtatrabaho sa geriatric care ng tinatayang tatlong buwan sa pagitan ng Nobyembre 1, 2020 at Hunyo 30, 2022, at iyong nananatiling employed hanggang Hunyo 30.


Ang iba pang beneficiaries ng COVID care bonus ay mga support staff, gaya ng administrators at iyong mga nasa building services, kitchen, cleaning, reception at security services, gardening at grounds maintenance, at laundry o logistics.


Ang mga trainees naman para sa elderly care, ibang empleyado, volunteers, at nakilahok sa “voluntary social year” scheme ay eligible din para makatanggap ng naturang insentibo.
