Naglabas ng public apology si Will Smith matapos ang pananampal nito kay Chris Rock sa ginanap na Oscars Academy Award.
"Violence in all of its forms is poisonous and destructive," aniya sa kanyang pahayag sa kanyang Facebook post. "My behavior at last night"s Academy Awards was unacceptable and inexcusable."
"Jokes at my expense are a part of the job, but a joke about Jada"s medical condition was too much for me to bear and I reacted emotionally," dagdag niya.
Humingi ng paumanhin si Will kay Chris matapos niya itong sampalin sa stage hinggil sa joke nito tungkol shaved head appearance ng kanyang asawang si Jada Smith sa 94th Academy Awards.
Noong 2018, inilantad ni Jada ang mga nakakalbong bahagi ng kanyang ulo matapos ipaalam ang kanyang dinaranas na Alopecia.
"I would like to publicly apologize to you, Chris. I was out of line and I was wrong," pahayag pa ni Will.
Inamin ni Will na siya ay "embarrassed and my actions were not indicative of the man I want to be."
"There is no place for violence in a world of love and kindness," patuloy niya.
Bukod kay Chris, humingi rin ng paumanhin si Will sa "the Academy, the producers of the show, all the attendees and everyone watching around the world."
"I would like to apologize to the Williams Family and my King Richard Family," dagdag pa niya.
Pinagsisisihan din umano niya na "that my behavior has stained what has been an otherwise gorgeous journey for all of us."

Kasunod ng insidente ng pananampal, tinanggap ni Will ang kanyang unang Oscar trophy kung saan humingi rin siya ng paumanhin sa Academy sa kanyang tearful speech.
Naglabas din ng pahayag ang Academy hinggil sa insidente kung saan inihayag nito na they do not "condone violence of any form."
