Sprinter Knott, balik-U.S. negatibo na sa COVID-19

Matapos magpositibo sa COVID-19 virus sa Europe ay pinayagan na sina Tokyo Olympics-bound sprinter Kristina Knott ng Philippines at American coach Rohsaan Griffin na makabalik sa US nang mag-negatibo na sa virus sa huling test na ginawa sa kanila.


“We are out of Covid Jail. Thank GOD!!” ani Griffin matapos silang i-quarantine ng 5 araw sa kanilang hotel nang magpositibo si Knott ilang oras bago ito sumabak sa Karlstad Grand Prix sa Sweden. Makakasama ni Knott si pole-vaulter Ernest John Obiena sa Tokyo Olympics sa Hulyo 23. “Thank you!” ani Knott sa Instagram Stories dahil sa pagbati sa kanya ng fans niya.


Isiniwalat ni Smith, na aalis ang team ni Knott sa Europe ngayong araw. “Once we arrive stateside, she (Knott) will go home, prep her things and head back to Austin, Texas, by July 6 to resume our training camp,” ani Griffin. “Austin is where one of the International Olympic certified testing centers for the Games is located. “We will train there until July 18 and then will head to Nagasaki for 10 days until heading into the Olympic Village on July 28.”

Inaasahang makakasama nina Griffin at Knott si teammate Obiena sa pagpunta nito sa Japan. Nakatakda ang women’s 200-meter race sa loob ng dalawang araw, kung saan gagawin ang heats at semifinals sa August 2 at ang final ay gabi ng August 3.
