Hello, Bulgarians! Binanggit ni Presidential Adviser for Entrepreneurship at Go Negosyo Founder Joey Concepcion sa press conference ng Project ARK at Mandaluyong Pooled Testing na sponsored ng BDO Foundation na naghahanap ito ng susuporta sa pag-aaral ng paggamit ng saliva sa RT-PCR.
Aniya, “If that research shows that saliva is as sensitive or even more sensitive than swab testing, then that would be another game-changer, because we would not need an [RT-PCR] extraction machine.”
Malaki ang tiyansang mahawa ang mga health workers sa isinasagawang nasopharyngeal swab at maaari pa itong makasakit sa mga tao kaya naman, nagbigay ng suhestiyon si Concepcion na gumamit ng saliva para mas mapadali ang bawat test. Ito rin umano ay maaaring makabawas sa presyo ng RT-PCR test.
Sa ngayon ay may clinical studies na pinag-aaralan ang kakayahan ng saliva sample bilang alternatibong sample sa swab-based molecular test. Kung ito ay mapatunayan ay maaari na itong simulan at magamit sa mga lugar na limitado lamang ang test kits.
Dagdag pa ni Concepcion, ito umano ang paraan upang mas mapabilis, mas abot-kaya at mas convenient sa mga tao. Ito rin umano ang sign na sumusunod tayo sa inobasyon ng mundo na siyang paraan upang makaahon muli ang ating ekonomiya.
Samantala, sumunod na rin ang Mandaluyong sa yapak ng Makati nang magsawa ng pooled testing methodology sa ilang piling residente.
Ayon kay Mandaluyong Mayor Menchie Abalos, “The PCR pooled testing initiative is a private sector led effort that is anchored on the combined effort of the government and businesses to make massive testing possible at the community level...Malaking tulong po ito sa aming mga Metro Manila mayors.”
Bukod pa rito, sinabi rin ng President ng BDO Unibank na si Nestor Tan na sa inisyatibong ito ng Go Negosyo, malaki ang maitutulong nito sa lahat ng small and medium sized business partners.
