Orcullo, 16 hrs, napiit dahil sa expired U.S. VISA

Ikinalungkot ni Games and Amusements Board (GAB) Chairman Abraham ‘Baham’ Mitra ang sinapit ni Filipino world veteran billiard champion Dennis ‘Robocop’ Orcullo na nadetine sa Los Angeles, Californa at napauwi bunsod ng kawalan ng tamang dokumento.


Ayon sa GAB chief, agad niyang nakumpirma ito mismo kaya Orcullo sa social media account, ang pagdakip ng US Immigration sa pool legend sa L.A. airport kung saan siya na-detain ng 16 na oras bago ibiniyahe pabalik sa Pilipinas nitong Lunes. “The GAB is very sorry to hear that our top professional billiard player and World Champion has been detained in the US for overstaying beyond his VISA expiration. We cannot blame Dennis Orcullo if he stayed much longer in the US due to the lack of tournaments in the country. GAB is more than willing to assist him in renewing his Professional Billiard Player License and make the endorsement to US Embassy,” pahayag ni Mitra.


Ayon sa GAB, regular ang renewal ng pro license ni Orcullo sa mga panahong nananatili siya sa Pilipinas. “Wala tayong problema sa ating mga billiards players with regards sa pag-secured ng kanilang mga lisensiya”. Nitong 2020, kabilang si Orcullo na lumahok sa US billiards Tour at namayagpag ang 43-anyos na tinaguriang ‘The Money Game King’ nang talunin si Shane Van Boening ng U.S. sa 120-119 one-on-one 9-ball tournament sa Oklahoma. Nakatakda sanang sumabak si Orcullo sa L.A. nang dakpin. “I had no idea what exactly rules of law in the US about my visa status. I need lawyer to help me out in my situation,” pahayag ni Orcullo sa kanyang FB post at aniya hindi man lang siya binigyan ng kahit anong pagkain at tubig sa loob ng 16 oras na pagkadetine.


Hindi rin umano pinayagan si Orcollo na gumamit ng cellphone. “Charge to experience in my career to what happened this time,”pahayag pa ng tinaguriang ‘Robocop’. “We in the GAB are ready to lend a helping hand. Kung ano ang puwede naming maitulong, susuporta kami.


Hopefully, after na makapagpahinga puwede niyang makausap ang aming legal team,” sambit ni Mitra
