Sinuspinde ng Department of Transportation (DOTr) ang biyahe papuntang Visayas at Mindanao ngayong Biyernes dahil sa banta ng Bagyong Bising.
Pahayag ng DOTr, “Due to the imminent threat of Severe Tropical Storm (STS) ‘Surigae’ (Bising), the DOTr suspends all land and sea travel, including those of fishing vessels, bound for Visayas and Mindanao via Matnog Port and all other ports in Region V starting 12 noon today, 16 April 2021.
“The DOTr advises trucking/logistics companies and buses not to proceed or postpone their planned trips in order to avoid long queues at Matnog, Sorsogon, to Daraga, Albay.”
Ayon din sa DOTr, ang naturang suspensiyon ay inihain ng Office of Civil Defense (OCD) Region V at inaprubahan ng National Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Council-Emergency Operations Center (NDRRMC-EOC).
Saad pa ng ahensiya, “Moreover, the DOTr orders its attached agencies in the Maritime and Road Sectors, namely the Philippine Coast Guard (PCG), the Land Transportation Office, (LTO), and the Land Transportation Franchising and Regulatory Board (LTFRB) to immediately enforce the said travel suspension.”
Kasunod nito ay naglabas din ang PCG ng maritime safety advisory kung saan pansamantala ring sinuspinde ang mga shipping operations sa Matnog Port sa Sorsogon papuntang Visayas at Mindanao simula ngayong araw, April 16 hanggang sa April 20 dahil sa Bagyong Bising.
Dagdag ng ahensiya, “According to Philippine Coast Guard (PCG) Spokesperson, Commodore Armando Balilo, all TRUCKING/LOGISTICS COMPANIES and BUSES are advised to POSTPONE THEIR TRIPS to avoid long queues at said port as a precautionary measure to control the spread of COVID-19 in the province.”
Samantala, sa weather bulletin ng PAGASA bandang alas-3 nang hapon, ang Bagyong Bising ay nasa 895 km Silangan ng Surigao City, Surigao del Norte.
Mayroon itong maximum sustained winds na 130 km/h malapit sa sentro ng bagyo at may bugso ng hangin na 160 km/h. Kumikilos ito pakanluran.
Makararanas ng maulap na panahon at kalat na pag-ulan at thunderstorm ang Eastern Visayas dahil sa Bagyong Bising.
Maulap na panahon din ang mararanasan sa iba pang bahagi ng Visayas, Palawan, at Occidental Mindoro.
