Biado, kinatawan ng bansa sa AIMAG at SEAG Vietnam

Matapos ang makasaysayang tagumpay sa 2021 US Open Pool Championship, nangako si Filipino cue artist Carlo Biado na paghahandaan naman niya ang dalawang malaking kompetisyon.
Ayon kay Billiards chief Robert Mananquil, ilalaban nila si Biado sa 6th Asian Indoor and Martial Arts Games (AIMAG) sa March 2022 sa Bangkok sa Chonburi, Thailand maging sa Southeast Asian (SEA) Games sa Vietnam.
Sinabi ito ni Mananquil sa kabila na ang kinatawan para sa AIMAG ay pipiliin sa pamamagitan ng elimination sa mga national members. “As of now, our next events are first, the 9-ball in AIMAG in March in Thailand. I was told by Bambol [Tolentino] that we were only given two players each [for] men and women and we will have eliminations for that,” ani Mananquil. “But with his records, let’s see. And then of course, the SEA Games in Vietnam.”
Isiniwalat din ni Mananquil na maaaring sumabak din si Biado sa 2021 World Games sa Birmingham, Alabama— isang quadrennial tournament kung saan si Biado ang defending champion matapos magkampeon sa 2017 edition na ginanap sa Poland. “I’m not yet sure if Carlo has been given an invitation for the World Games. Carlo is the defending champion in the 9-ball World Games, which is sanctioned by the IOC.”
Sinabi ni Biado na mamahinga muna siya at magbabalik sa US sa Enero 2022 upang sumabak sa ilang local tournaments bilang bahagi ng paghahanda sa AIMAG at SEA Games.
“I think I’ll return to America by January and join local tournaments in order to prepare for the AIMAG,” wika nito. “But for now, I will first take a break because doing billiards non-stop will really wear you out. I need to refresh my body.”
