Isa akong lisensiyadong metallurgical engineer, ngunit expired na ang aking professional identification card. Maaari ko pa rin bang gamitin ang aking professional seal sa mga ginawa kong professional documents na gagamitin sa trabaho? – Irene

Dear Irene,

Para sa inyong kaalaman, ang batas na sumasaklaw sa inyong katanungan ay ang Section 25 ng Republic Act No. 10688 na mas kilala bilang ”Metallurgical Engineering Act of 2015.” Nakasaad sa nasabing probisyon ang sumusunod:

“SECTION 25. Seal of a Metallurgical Engineer. – A metallurgical engineer, upon registration and payment of fees and dues to the APO, shall obtain a seal of such design prescribed by the Board, bearing the registrant’s name, certificate number and the legend “Registered Metallurgical Engineer”. Designs, plans, specifications, project feasibility studies, appraisals, valuations, recommendations, technical reports, proposals, and other professional documents involving metallurgy, quarries, colliery works, projects or installations shall be stamped on every sheet with the said seal of the registrant when filed with government authorities or when submitted or used professionally: Provided, That it shall be unlawful for anyone to stamp or seal any document with the said seal after the certificate and/or professional identification card shall have been revoked, cancelled or expired.” (Binigyang-diin)

Ayon sa nasabing batas, ang metallurgical engineer, matapos magparehistro at magbayad ng fees at dues sa Accredited Professional Organization ay mabibigyan ng seal na aprubado ng Professional Regulatory Board of Metallurgical Engineering at kung saan makikita ang kanyang pangalan, certificate number, at ang katagang “Registered Metallurgical Engineer.” Nararapat gamitin ang nasabing seal sa bawat pahina ng mga professional documents na ginawa ng metallurgical engineer, subalit, hindi ito maaaring gawin kung ang kanyang certificate o professional identification card ay na-revoke, cancel, o expire na.

Sa inyong sitwasyon, hindi ninyo maaaring gamitin ang inyong seal bilang metallurgical engineer sa mga professional documents na inyong ginawa sapagkat ang inyong professional identification card ay nag-expire na.
