Mga outstanding women athletes ang pararangalan sa inaugural ng All-Women Sports Awards sa Marso 20 sa Rizal Memorial Coliseum sa Manila.Isa sa major awardees si national basketball team mainstay Jack Animam, Asian 400-meter hurdles queen Robyn Brown, 2020 Tokyo Olympic silver medalist at 2024 Paris Games-bound boxer Nesthy Petecio, at women’s World 10-Ball champion Chezka Centeno.
Halos 50 major awardees, individual at teams ng iba't ibang disiplina ang itatampok sa gala event na binuo ng Philippine Commission for Women at Philippine Sports Commission kaugnay ng International Women’s Month.
“This is our way of paying homage to our national women athletes who did their flag and country proud in 2023. They are shining examples of what women’s empowerment is all about,” ayon kay PSC Commissioner Olivia “Bong” Coo. “They are our models of pushing the envelope of gender equality, which is a major thrust of the Philippine Commission for Women.”
Pararangalan din si Cheyzer Mendoza, ang most bemedalled female chess player at wheelchair dancer Edelyn de Asis, na naka-2 golds with partner Julius Jun Obero sa Para Dance World Championships. “The award is symbolic tribute to their outstanding and remarkable achievements overseas we called Women Power in Sports,” sabi ni Coo sa eksklusibong panayam ng Bulgar habang kasakay sa elevator. Binanggit ni Coo ang female athletes na nagtagumpay sa sports na sina Hidilyn Diaz, Erleen Ann Ando, Vanessa Sarno, Annie Ramirez, Margarita Ochoa, Janelle Mae Frayna, Junna Tsukii, Chezka Centeno, Rubilen Amit, Kaila Napolis at Jamie Lim.
Kasama sa mga awardees sina Bianca Pagdanganan, Paris Olympic-bound Aleah Finnegan, Isabella Gomez, Samantha Catantan at Los Angeles-based Filipino-American Robyn Lauren Brown.
