Naiuwi ni Caloy Yulo ang gold medal sa men’s all-around event ng gymnastics sa Southeast Asian Games sa Hanoi, Vietnam kagabi.
Nasungkit ni Yulo ang gold medal matapos umiskor ng 85.150 overall, ginapi ang apat na Vietnamese bets para sa top slot.
Tumapos ang Pilipinas ng silver overall sa all-around team competition, kung saan gold medal ang Vietnam. Sumagupa si Yulo sa Quan Ngura Sports Palace laban sa 12 pang gymnasts mula sa 5 bansa, dalawa mula Malaysia, isa mula Indonesia at Thailand, 2 mula Singapore at 4 mula host Vietnam.
Susunod na babanat si Yulo, 22 sa pommel horse, rings, at floor exercise competitions ngayong Sabado, bago lalarga sa high bar, parallel bar at vault competitions sa Linggo.
Sa 2019 SEA Games sa Manila, umiskor si Yulo ng 84.900 para kunin ang all-around gold much na ikinatuwa ng crowd sa Rizal Memorial Coliseum. Nakuha nina Vietnam's Dinh Phuong Thanh (82.350) at Le Thahn Tung (81.700) ang silver at bronze ayon sa pagkakasunod.
Naniniwala si Cynthia Carrion-Norton, president ng Gymnastics Association of the Philippines, na makakakuha pa si Yulo ng 4 pang gold medals. “Everybody’s afraid and watching Caloy in training here,” aniya.
Buong pagpapakumbaba namang nasabi ni Yulo na, “I’ll just focus on my strength and what I can do in the competition.”
