Wa' raw pagkakaiba sa lalaki… LOVI, NASARAPAN SA HALIKAN NILA NI JANINE

Among the “It Girls” sa showbiz, si Lovi Poe na lang ang ‘di pa nagpapakasal. Pero happy ang love life ni Lovi with her British boyfriend na si Montgomery “Monty” Blencowe.

We wonder kung ano ang magiging reaksiyon ng boyfriend ni Lovi kapag napanood ang serye niya for iWantTFC with Janine Gutierrez about a queer female love story titled Sleep With Me directed by Samantha Lee.

First time gumawa ni Lovi ng ganitong tema na proyekto.

“I think ang pinaka-challenge for me is ‘yung night shift. Kasi nag-i-start talaga kami ng mga 4 PM hanggang the next day.

"So, ‘yung tulog talaga namin, baligtad. So, ‘yun 'yung pinaka-challenging for me,” pahayag ni Lovi sa mediacon ng Sleep With Me na ginanap sa Studio 2 ng ABS-CBN.

Morning person pa naman daw siya and she follows a certain routine.

“So, the fact that I have to shift that, ‘yun ‘yung pinaka-challenging for me. The rest is such like a breeze for me. Kasi everyone, si Direk Sam was such an easy going.”

Tinatalakay sa Sleep With Me ang usapin ukol sa pagkilala sa LGBTQ+ members, especially ang mga lesbian na tila hirap pa rin daw tanggapin ng lipunan. Bukod doon, binigyang-diin nila ang pagtugon sa pangangailangan at pagbibigay ng equal opportunity para sa persons with disability (PWD).

Ginagampanan ni Janine ang karakter ni Harry na isang PWD sa Sleep With Me, kaya tinanong namin si Lovi kung paano in-execute ang love scene nila sa serye.

“Basically, the story kasi, ‘yung disability ni Harry, she can’t walk. So, basically, I’m the one who does everything.

“It was a different experience kasi nga, ipinapakita rin dito kung ano’ng nangyayari sa ganitong klaseng situation, ‘di ba? Kung paano ba ‘to?

“Kasi nga, wala pa akong nakikitang ganitong klaseng stories, eh. The fact that we’re given an opportunity to actually… to show that part, talagang it was nice. Kasi nga somehow, yes, we’re telling a good story but we’re also raising awareness,” esplika ni Lovi.

Tinanong din si Lovi after ng mediacon kung paano niya ide-describe in one word ang kissing scene nila ni Janine.

“How do I say this? Kasi it’s different, eh. It was filled with love. It was gentle. The first kiss, it was gentle. Kaso nga ‘yung scene namin, parang nagpaalam pa ako, ‘Uhm, are you sure?’

May ganoong kuwestiyon pa before it happened. It was nice.”

On a personal note, inamin ni Lovi na first time niyang humalik sa kapwa niya babae.

“Yes, it was my first time. Even sa film,” natatawang sabi ni Lovi.

Pero hindi naman daw siya nahirapang gawin ‘yun.

“Basically, ‘yun nga, I felt safe because you know everyone on the set, we’re all women there. Also Janine, more than anything I felt so shy.

“I’ve done love scenes in the past and I’m just so lucky that my leading men are so maalaga, very respectful.

“But now, nage-getz ko na why they’re always apologizing. So, ganu'n ako towards Janine. I kept asking, ‘Is it okay if I do this? Are you okay?’

“Now I get it why they feel so conscious in such a way that, ‘I hope I’m very respectful na parang I don’t get to violate in a certain manner.”

Now na naka-experience siyang humalik sa kapwa niya babae, nadiskubre niya na wala naman daw pagkakaiba doing the same thing with the opposite sex.

“Actually, no. A lot of people would ask nga, ‘Are you ready to kiss a woman?’ Uh, I was like, ‘I’ve never done it. But you know, we’ll find out when the first time you kiss someone.’

“When I first kissed Janine, it was nice and a good experience. It was nice to have an understanding.”

Given the same role, puwede pa rin daw niyang gawin ang ganoong eksena.

“Sabi ko nga, ang basehan ko ng proyekto is the script and the people you’re gonna work with.

So, if I’m given again to portray this kind of character, I would say yes again,” diin pa ni Lovi.

Ang Sleep With Me ay nanalo as Audience Award for Best Episodic when it made its world premiere last July 19 as a selection in the Episodes section of the 40th Outfest LGBTQ+ Film Festival in Los Angeles.
