Wa' naman daw silang pondo… VIVIAN, NAG-RESIGN BILANG HEAD NG FAP

Nag-resign na si Vivian Velez bilang director-general ng Film Academy of the Philippines (FAP).

Ipinost ni Vivian ang kanyang pagbibitiw sa mismong Facebook page ng naturang government agency.

“I would like to take this opportunity, first and foremost, to thank the Board of Directors of the Cultural Center of the Philippines (CCP) for providing me the opportunity to serve as Director General of the Film Academy of the Philippines (FAP),” panimulang mensahe ni Vivian sa kanyang FB post last Tuesday.

Very challenging para kay VV ang kanyang stint sa FAP.

“It was a very challenging stint, to say the least, and the pandemic did not make it any easier, either.

“There are still a lot of work to be done at FAP, in fact, too many to count.

“The organization continues to be not self sustaining and will never survive without intervention, at this point. It has no credible source of income, or, government support to make ends meet.

“The next DG will surely have his work cut out for him, or her,” warning niya sa susunod na maa-appoint sa FAP.

Isinumite na raw ni VV ang kanyang “irrevocable resignation” last May, 2022.

Ibinalita rin ni VV na ang FAP Treasurer na si Mr. Manny Morfe ang tatayo bilang acting officer-in-charge while the board of CCP is deliberating on who will replace her as director general.

During the FDCP presscon para sa PeliKULAYa filmfest nila ay inihayag ni VV ang kanyang pagnanais na maibalik na sa Mowelfund ang pamamahala sa Metro Manila Film Festival.

Sa true lang, ang MMFF ay binuo ni former Pres. Joseph Estrada para sa Mowelfund. At nu’ng panahon ni Pres. Cory Aquino, gumawa siya ng batas na magwo-work hand-on-hand ang Mowelfund at Metropolitan Manila Development Authority (MMDA) para sa MMFF.

Hanggang sa nitong huli, nawala na sa eksena ang Mowelfund at nasolo na ng MMDA ang pamamahala sa MMFF at ginawa na lang isa sa mga beneficiaries ng MMFF ang Mowelfund along with FAP, Optical Media Board at isa pang ahensiya na nag-slip na sa aming isipan.

And now, ang “sigaw” ni VV ay ibalik na solely ang MMFF sa Mowelfund.

Harinawang may makarinig sa sigaw ni VV, especially ang mga artistang nasa Senado namely Senators Jinggoy Estrada at Bong Revilla.

Hopefully, makagawa sila ng bill sa Senate na nagrerekomenda na ang Mowelfund na ang mamahala sa taunang MMFF.
