Subpoena inilabas ng DOLE... Magsalita ka Baldwin

Naglabas ang Department of Labor and Employment (DOLE) ng subpoena sa 68-anyos na American-Kiwi na si Ateneo head coach Tab Baldwin, at nais itong makausap ng personal ng bagong hirang na Secretary na si Francis Tolentino hinggil sa pagkalunod at pagkasawi ng 2 students athletes na sina Rene Baterbonia at Divine Adili sa Baler, Aurora.

Ani Tolentino, nananatiling empleyado sa Pilipinas si Baldwin at sakop ng Labor law, kaya’t nais makumpirma ng DOLE kung may hawak itong valid at current alien employment permit.

"I just issued a subpoena. No foreign national working in this country is above the law, regardless of the status, reputation, or the institution they represent. Coach Baldwin is employed in the Philippines, and subject to labor laws… The DOLE will simply do its job verifying that he holds a valid and current alien employment permit," pahayag ni Tolentino sa press conference kahapon. "Kailangang humarap sa akin si Coach Baldwin sa Lunes personally to show his valid and current AEP issued by this Department, authorizing him to issue as head coach of ADMU Men's Basketball Team."

Sa kabila nito naglabas naman ang Ateneo University ng statement hinggil sa pananahimik ni Baldwin, "The University requested that Coach Baldwin refrain from making public statements to allow the official processes to proceed and the facts to be established before any public discussion of the matter."

Naunang hinamon ni Philippine Sports Commission Chairman Patrick Gregorio si Baldwin na lumabas at sagutin ang lahat ng katanungan na lumabas at magsalita sa publiko si Baldwin pero diumano'y ‘on-leave’ kasama si team manager Christopher "Epok" Quimpo habang nasa imbestigasyon ayon sa pamunuan ng Ateneo.
