Pormal nang nagpatawag si Pangulong Ferdinand Marcos Jr. ng special session ng Kongreso upang pabilisin ang pagpasa ng mga social protection measures kaugnay ng energy emergency at mga kalamidad sa kabila ng kanilang sine die adjournment.


Sa ilalim ng Proclamation No. 1318, inatasan ng Pangulo ang Kongreso na magdaos ng special session bukas, Hunyo 17 kung saan hiniling niyang talakayin ang mga priority bills na nasa advanced stage na ngunit hindi pa naipapasa.


Kabilang dito ang National Center for Geriatric Health; Amendments to the Government Assistance to Students and Teachers in Private Education (GASTPE) Act; Assistance to Individuals in Crisis Situations (AICS) Act; Amendments to the Universal Access to Quality Tertiary Education Act (UAQTEA); Last Mile and Geographically Isolated and Disadvantaged and Conflict-Affected Areas (GIDA) Schools Act; Amendments to the


Masustansyang Pagkain Para sa Batang Pilipino Act; Anti-Political Dynasty Law; Presidential Merit Scholarship Program; at iba pang mga panukala na layuning palakasin ang social protection at mapabuti ang kabuhayan at kalidad ng buhay ng mga Pilipino.


Nanawagan din si Marcos para sa isang special session upang mabigyan ng pagkakataon ang Commission on Appointments (CA) na magpulong at aksyunan ang mga itinalaga sa Gabinete, militar, at  foreign service ng bansa.
