Sinabi ni Department of the Interior and Local Government (DILG) Sec. Jonvic Remulla na hindi umano nila itinuturing na banta sa seguridad o mapanganib ang contractor na si Sarah Discaya kasunod ng kusa nitong pagsuko sa mga awtoridad.
Ayon kay Remulla, maayos ang naging koordinasyon ng DILG, National Bureau of Investigation (NBI), at Philippine National Police (PNP) sa kaso ni Discaya.
Nahaharap sa kasong malversation of public funds at umano’y paglabag sa Anti-Graft and Corrupt Practices Act si Discaya dahil sa P96.5 milyong ghost flood control project sa Davao Occidental.
