Sa posibleng impeachment trial ni VP Sara… SP Sotto, nakipag-usap sa ilang miyembro ng mayorya

Ipinahayag ni Senate President Vicente “Tito” Sotto III ngayong Lunes, Abril 20 na inimbitahan niya ang ilang senador mula sa majority bloc para talakayin ang posibilidad ng articles of impeachment laban kay Vice President Sara Duterte na maipadala sa Senado ng House of Representatives.

Ayon kay Sotto, na posibleng maupo bilang presiding officer ng impeachment court na inaasahang maglilitis sa naturang complaint laban kay VP Sara, dapat maghanda ang mga potensyal na senator-judges sa anumang puwedeng mangyari.

“I just wanted to give my colleagues a heads up on the possibility of receiving the Articles of Impeachment from the HOR [House of Representatives]. It’s best that we prepare for it as senator judges,” he said.

Gayunman, nilinaw ng SP Sotto na ang pagtitipon ay hindi caucus o opisyal na pagpupulong ng Senado dahil nag-imbita lamang siya ng mga mayoryang senador para sa isang dinner.

Aniya pa, “[They will] remain impartial and wait for whatever will be presented.”
