ROBIN, NAGBANTANG MAGRE-RESIGN BILANG SENADOR

Dinikdik ng mga netizens si Senador Robin Padilla sa ibinigay nitong rason sa pag-iba niya ng hand gesture habang inaawit ang Pambansang Awit na Lupang Hinirang sa nakaraang SONA ni P-BBM.

Pinangatawanan ni Sen. Robin ang ginawa niyang hand gesture bilang bahagi ng kanyang Muslim faith. At nagbitiw pa siya ng statement na magre-resign kung pipigilan siya o pagbabawalan sa pagsunod sa kanyang faith.

“I would rather resign than (have) somebody telling me I cannot (practice) my faith,” sabi ni Sen. Robin.

Dagdag pa niya, “I will never, never exchange my faith to be a politician.”

Hinamon naman ng mga netizens si Sen. Robin na mag-resign na dahil may mga practices din ang mga Muslim na kanyang nilabag.

“You have said that you would rather resign than let anyone tell you how to practice your faith!"

Ibinahagi naman ng netizen ang isang verse mula sa Holy Qur’an 2:221 na nilabag umano ni Sen. Robin, “Coming to practicing your faith: Allah says: “Do not marry idolatresses (al mushrikāt) till they believe; and certainly a believing maid is better than an idolatress even though she would please you; and do not marry idolaters (al Mushrikīn) till they believe (hata yūminū), and certainly a believing slave is better than an idolater, even though he would please you. These invite to the Fire, and Allah invites to the Garden and to forgiveness by His grace, and makes clear. His revelations to mankind so that they may remember."

“Your wife has not converted to Islam and is still a Catholic. So it means you have committed 'Haram' or we shall lightly call it 'Shirk.'”
