Reyes at De Guzman, gold at silver sa World Poomsae

Pinahanga ng mga Filipino poomsae players ang mga sumusubaybay sa nasabing event matapos nilang magwagi ng tatlong medalya sa ginanap na Online 2022 World Taekwondo Challenge 1 noong Martes.

Nagwagi ng gold si Southeast Asian (SEA) Games gold medalist Rodolfo Reyes sa national team individual male under-30 event habang nag-uwi naman sina Ernesto de Guzman at Jocel Ninobla ng silver medals sa national team individual male under-50 at national team individual female under-30, ayon sa pagkakasunod.

Ayon kay Philippine Taekwondo Association (PTA) Director Stephen Fernandez, ang naturang performance ay mas magpapasigla at magpapataas ng kanilang morale para sa nakatakda nilang pagsabak sa Goyang 2022 World Taekwondo Poomsae Championships sa South Korea sa darating na weekend.

“It shows that with the program of the PTA, and with the guidance of Grand Master Hong Sung-chon, our poomsae athletes have become world-class and that they always land on the podium of prestigious events like this,” ani Fernandez.

“There’s a big chance that the opponents they faced online will be the same ones they will face in the world championships.”

Maganda rin ani Fernandez na build up ang nasabing tagumpay para sa pagsabak nila sa darating na 31st SEAG sa Hanoi sa Mayo 12 - 23.

Humakot ang poomsae athletes ng 4 gold at apat ding silver medals noong biennial meet sa Manila noong 2019.
