Ibinabala ng Bureau of Fisheries and Aquatic Resources (BFAR) ang red tide toxins sa tatlong baybayin sa Eastern Visayas Region.


Sakop ng shellfish ban ang Irong-Irong Bay sa Samar, Matarinao Bay sa Eastern Samar—na sumasaklaw sa mga bayan ng General MacArthur, Quinapondan, Hernani, at Salcedo—gayundin ang mga baybaying karagatan sa paligid ng Biliran Island.


Binalaan ang publiko na ang lahat ng uri ng shellfish, kabilang ang alamang (Acetes species) na nahuhuli sa mga apektadong lugar, ay hindi ligtas kainin.


Gayunman, nilinaw ng ahensya na ligtas pa ring kainin ang mga isda, pusit, hipon, at alimango mula sa mga naturang karagatan, basta't sariwa ang mga ito at maayos na nalinis bago lutuin.
