Epektibo ang dalawang doses ng Pfizer o AstraZeneca laban sa COVID-19 Delta variant, ayon sa pag-aaral na inilathala sa New England Journal of Medicine.
Sa isinagawang pananaliksik, napag-alaman na ang dalawang doses ng Pfizer vaccine shots ay 88% effective laban sa Delta variant at 93.7% effective laban sa Alpha variant.
Ang dalawang doses naman ng AstraZeneca vaccine shots ay 67% effective laban sa Delta variant at 74.5% effective laban sa Alpha variant.
Nilinaw din sa pag-aaral na ang isang dose ng Pfizer vaccine shot ay 36% lamang ang efficacy habang ang AstraZeneca naman ay 30% effective laban sa Delta variant.
Saad pa ng Public Health England, "Only modest differences in vaccine effectiveness were noted with the Delta variant as compared with the Alpha variant after the receipt of two vaccine doses.
"Our finding of reduced effectiveness after the first dose would support efforts to maximize vaccine uptake with two doses among vulnerable groups in the context of circulation of the Delta variant.”
