Ipinagbawal ng Cebu provincial government ang transportasyon ng mga buhay na baboy mula sa probinsiya patungo sa ibang lugar sa loob nang 6 na buwan dahil sa kakulangan sa suplay. Nilagdaan ni Cebu Governor Gwendolyn Garcia noong Biyernes ang Executive Order No. 8 Series of 2021 upang masiguro ang sapat na suplay ng baboy sa probinsiya sa kabila ng mataas na demand nito sa iba pang lugar sa bansa dahil sa African Swine Fever.
Saad din sa naturang order, “There is an urgent need to strictly regulate the [transport] of live hogs and sows to other areas of the country in order to protect the pig supply in the province of Cebu.”
Samantala, epektibo ang naturang order simula sa February 1 ngayong taon.
