Pac-May 2 walang atrasan tatala ng bagong kasaysayan

Nanindigan ang kampo ng nag-iisang eight-division World champion Manny “Pacman” Pacquiao na maitutulak ang inaabangang rematch kontra American boxing legend Floyd “Money” Mayweather sa susunod na taon na tinitingnang lilikhang muli ng maraming rekords sa kasaysayan.

Matagal inantabayanan ang ikalawang sagupaan sa pagitan ng dalawang International Boxing Hall of Famer na unang nasilayan noong Mayo 2, 2015 sa binansagang “Battle for Greatness” o “Fight of the Century” na ginanap sa jampacked na MGM Grand, kung saan lumikha ng kasaysayan pagdating sa pay-per-view at kabuuang kinita sa pandaigdigan.

Ito pa rin ang nananatiling naratibo ni MP Promotions Chief Executive Officer Jaspreet “Jas” Mathur kasunod ng panibagong pagkaka-antala ng nakatakdang sagupaan sa Setyembre 25 sa Las Vegas, Nevada at patuloy nilang ibibigay kung ano ang gusto ng nakararaming sports fans sa buong mundo, at maaaring sumira sa naunang nilang ginawang rekord.  

“What the fans want to see is what the fans want to see, [and] what the people want to see, what the people want to see. Everybody wants to see Floyd and Manny one more time. That’s going to break more records; that’s going to be the most-viewed event again in today’s era, in the streaming era,” pahayag ni Mathur kahapon sa ginanap na press conference sa Wilcon IT Hub sa Makati City. 

“They both this one fight to happen. Floyd is not backing down from this, and neither is Manny. Neither of them is backing down; there’s never been an instance that their backing out. Floyd has never backed out of a fight in his life; I don’t think he’s going to back out of the fight today.”

Matatandaang nasangkot sa isang ‘Breach of Contract’ na kaso si Mayweather na isinampa ng CSI Sports Events, na siyang namamahala sa exhibition fight kontra Mike Tyson, kung saan napaulat na mayroon ding kaantabay na exhibition match si Mayweather laban kay Mike Zambidis ng Greece.

“Negotiation is happening until the last day, when it comes to Floyd, so, negotiations are negotiations, that’s business. No one’s not open to negotiations, just negotiations between parties that have their head straight and better looking for the finish line with a deal,” eksplika ng 41-anyos na tubong New Delhi, India.

“There’s a very complicated situation, even though frustrating for Manny, Manny understands because I took the time to explain to Manny exactly whats been going on here from day one.”

Wala pa mang nakalatag na eksaktong petsa sa kanilang laban sa susunod na taon, nananatiling bukas ang pintuan ng 47-anyos na Filipino boxing legend sa anumang exhibition fight, o kaya’y maging sa anumang world title fight, kung saan maaaring iharap rito sa mga susunod na laban sina World Boxing Association (WBA) welterweight titlists Rolando “Rolly” Romero, World Boxing Council (WBC) champ Ryan “KingRy” Garcia o maging si International Boxing Federation Liam Paro ng Australia.

“Everything is on the table; it’s on the table. All of these boxers are on the table, but we’re focus is on what is in front of us right now, and as I said, we want to break records,” wika ni Mathur.
