Labinlimang miyembro ng Presidential Security Group (PSG) ang nagpositibo sa test sa COVID-19, ayon kay PSG commander Colonel Randolph Cabangbang ngayong Huwebes.
Binanggit din ni Cabangbang na ang mga nagpositibo sa test ay mga fully vaccinated na kontra-COVID-19 at hindi ang mga ito na-exposed kay Pangulong Rodrigo Duterte.
“They were coming off holiday break, kaya hindi sila nagkaroon ng contact sa Presidente,” ani Cabangbang.
“After undergoing the mandatory quarantine for seven days, they were administered RT-PCR test, and 15 personnel yielded [COVID-19] positive test results. They are not in any way detailed with the President. All personnel were fully vaccinated and are asymptomatic,” dagdag ni Cabangbang sa isang statement.
Tiniyak naman ni Cabangbang sa publiko na ang mga nasabing PSG personnel ay naalagaan at nabigyan na rin ng medikal na atensiyon habang patuloy ang mga ito sa pagsunod sa health protocols.
“PSG is strictly adhering to the highest standards of performing its primary mandate, that is, to protect the Commander-in-Chief, our beloved President Duterte,” sabi ni Cabangbang.
“Your PSG assures the public that we are fit and able to protect the President so he can continue his mandate to serve this nation,” saad pa niya.
Una nang sinabi ni acting presidential spokesperson Karlo Nograles na lahat ng itinakdang health protocols ay kanilang mahigpit na ipinatutupad upang masiguro na ang Pangulo ay mananatiling COVID-19-free habang ginagampanan nito ang tungkulin bilang commander-in-chief.
