New Mexico, nagsimula nang magtayo ng abortion clinic

Sinimulan na ng New Mexico ang pagtatayo ng isang state-funded 'reproductive health and abortion clinic' sa katimugang bahagi ng estado upang magsilbi sa mga lokal na residente at sa mga tao mula sa mga kalapit na estado tulad ng Texas at Oklahoma, na may mahigpit na batas para sa abortion.

Suportado ang proyekto ng $10 milyon mula sa isang executive order noong 2022, at naaayon ito sa liberal na batas ng New Mexico para sa abortion. Muling pinagtibay ni Governor Michelle Lujan Grisham ang kanyang suporta sa karapatang magsagawa ng abortion matapos ibasura ng Korte Suprema ng U.S. ang Roe v. Wade at alisin ang universal access sa abortion.

"Access to reproductive healthcare should be a fundamental human right," ani Grisham. "Once completed, this clinic will stand as a testament to our state's commitment to reproductive freedom for residents of New Mexico, and also those who travel here from out-of-state in need of this care," dagdag pa niya.
