Target ng administrasyong Marcos na makapag-isyu na ng mga national IDs sa mga mamamayan bago matapos ang taon, ayon kay incoming Socioeconomic Planning Secretary at National Economic and Development Authority (NEDA) chief Arsenio Balisacan ngayong Martes.
“Hopefully we can get most of these IDs either in physical form or in electronic form already available before the end of the year and that's the instruction of the President,” pahayag ni Balisacan sa CNN Philippines.
Batay sa impormasyon mula sa Philippine Statistics Authority (PSA), sinabi ni Balisacan na 92 milyong Pilipino ang eligible na makatanggap ng mga national IDs, habang giit niya, “[the incoming administration] intends to cover those before the end of the year.”
Bukod sa PSA, sinabi ni Balisacan na ang bagong administrasyon ay makikipag-ugnayan din sa Bangko Sentral ng Pilipinas (BSP) para sa pagre-release ng mga IDs. Ayon sa PSA, mahigit sa 10 milyong Philippine Identification (PhilID) cards ang nai-deliver na nationwide hanggang nitong Abril 30, 2022.
Inatasan naman ng PSA ang mga field offices upang mag-assist sa pagde-deliver ng PhilIDs sa mga registrants na matatagpuan sa mga remote areas sa buong bansa.
Binanggit din ni Balisacan ang naging pahayag ni President-elect Ferdinand “Bongbong” Marcos Jr. na ang mga national IDs ay makatutulong para matiyak ang agarang distribusyon ng assistance o ayuda sa mga mahihirap at vulnerable sectors sa gitna ng patuloy na pagtaas ng presyo ng mga bilihin.
“Yes as I said earlier, we are ramping up the implementation of our National ID system and also the digitalization in the government and with respect to the ID system, we believe that we can reduce substantially the leakage so that we can reach more people, more deserving people from the limited resources,” sabi ni Balisacan.
