Naglabas na ng bagong guidelines ang Department of Transportation (DOTr) na inaprubahan ng Inter-Agency Task Force for the Management of Emerging Infectious Diseases (IATF) kung saan magpapatuloy at mananatili ang operasyon ng mga pampublikong transportasyon sa National Capital Region (NCR) sa kabila ng pagpapatupad muli ng enhanced community quarantine (ECQ) sa rehiyon.
Gayunman, ayon sa DOTr, papayagan lamang na pasakayin sa public transport ang mga authorized persons outside residence (APORs). “Restrictions will be applied on passengers. There will be stricter enforcement to ensure that only APORs are permitted to use public transport, as mandated by the IATF,” ani Transportation Secretary Arthur Tugade sa isang email statement ngayong Martes.
“APORs are reminded to be ready to present transport marshals identification cards issued by the IATF or other documents or IDs as proof that they are authorized to travel,” dagdag ni Tugade. Isinailalim ang Metro Manila sa general community quarantine (GCQ) “subject to heightened and additional restrictions” mula Hulyo 31 hanggang Agosto 5, 2021. Kasunod nito ang ECQ na pinakamahigpit na quarantine protocol mula Agosto 6 hanggang 20, 2021.
Narito ang mga guidelines para sa ipapatupad na ECQ sa public transport:
*Ang mga public utility vehicles (PUV) gaya ng mga bus at jeepneys ay papayagan na mag-operate ng 50% capacity lamang. Ipinagbabawal ang mga nakatayong pasahero habang isang pasahero lamang ang maaaring maupo sa hilera ng driver.
* Papayagang bumiyahe ang mga motorcycle taxi services at mga transport network vehicle services (TNVS).
* Hinikayat naman at papayagan din ang mga bisikleta at electric scooters na bumiyahe, habang ang mga tricycle ay papayagang magsakay ng isang pasahero lamang.
* Magpapatuloy ang operasyon ng Light Rail Transit Lines 1 at 2 (LRT1 at LRT2) at ng Metro Rail Transit Line 3 sa panahon ng ECQ, kasabay nito ang mahigpit na pagpapatupad ng mga transport marshals ng health protocols.
* Isasagawa ang temperature checks sa entrance ng mga istasyon ng tren habang ang mga pasaherong nakitaan ng sintomas ng COVID-19 ay hindi papayagan.
* Mananatiling operational ang mga domestic flights at sea travel sa NCR habang nakadepende ang quarantine restrictions sa destinasyong pupuntahan.
“We are more adamant now, as we reinforce the government initiatives and measures to prevent the spread of the highly-transmissible Dela variant,” sabi ni Tugade.
