Magsayo, bigo kay Vargas sa WBC Featherweight match

Nabigong madepensahan ni Mark “Magnifico” Magsayo ang kanyang WBC featherweight title at maputol ang undefeated winning streak matapos yumuko kontra Mexican Rey Vargas sa bisa ng split decision, kahapon ng umaga sa Alamodome sa San Antonio, Texas.

Hindi pumabor ang dalawang hurado sa Filipinong kampeon na sina Tim Cheatham at David Sutherland sa parehong iskor na 115-112 para sa dating WBC super-bantamweight titlist, habang si Jesse Reyes ay ibinigay ang pabor kay Magsayo sa 114-113.

“I’m at a loss of words. I worked hard for this. I want to thank God, my family, [trainer] Nacho [Beristain]. The first title I won, I enjoyed it greatly but this one is special. This win is for me,” pahayag ni Vargas.
