Bilib talaga kami kina dating FDCP Chair Liza Diño-Seguerra at Ice Seguerra dahil kitang-kita ang pagmamahal nila sa entertainment industry.

Imagine, kung dati ay singer-performer lang si Ice, ngayon ay direktor at producer na rin ito katuwang ang kanyang misis na si Liza sa itinayo nilang Fire & Ice Media Production.

At hindi lang sila, isinama rin nila ang kanilang ninang sa kasal na si Ms. Sylvia Sanchez na nagtayo naman ng Nathan Studios production outfit upang makatulong sa maliliit na entertainer na mabigyan ng trabaho-shows.

Kaya naman bukod sa Becoming Ice concert ni Ice Seguerra na may tour na rin sa Cebu at Davao this year after ng successful show sa Solaire last year, ang Fire & Ice Media Production ay nag-produce rin ng pre-Valentine concert titled Divine Divas: The Ultimate Drag Experience.

Bonggang rarampa at magpe-perform dito sina Drag Race Philippines Season 1 winner Precious Paula Nicole kasama sina Viñas Deluxe and Brigiding collectively known as Divine Divas.

The concert will showcase Philippine drag culture at its finest on February 10, 2023 at the New Frontier Theater, Araneta City, Cubao.

It will be a showcase of the various disciplines that drag represents: impersonations of music superstars like Beyonce and Lady Gaga, as well performances of original songs that the drag artists themselves helped create and bring to life.

I'm sure kahit ang direktor ng Divine Divas: The Ultimate Drag Experience na si Ice Seguerra ay excited sa magaganap na concert dahil kahit nu'ng presscon pa nga lang nila bago magtapos ang taong 2022 kung saan nagpa-sample ng to the highest level performance sina Precious Paula Nicole, Viñas Deluxe at Brigiding ay parang amazed na amazed at bilib na bilib na si Ice sa galing ng tatlong drag queens.

Pero bukod sa mga performances, the concert also aims to present the colorful, multi-faceted lives of the drag queens: from their struggles to their triumphs. Part of the reasons for staging this concert is also to bring the art out onto a bigger platform, a bigger stage, one that is not limited to a niche audience and a very specific, limited crowd.

“This is an opportunity for drag queens to be seen on the main stage and to be considered as mainstream artists. Fire & Ice wants to support that. Especially since we are part of the LGBT community. We deserve to be front and center and not just be on the sidelines. Through this concert, we hope that more people will appreciate these drag performers and help normalize drag as a form of entertainment,” sabi ng producer na si Liza Diño.

Well, ganyan ka-supportive sina Ice and Liza sa LGBT community where they belong.

Kaya naman hindi namin masisisi si Ice kung sa Q&A ay may hugot pa rin ito dahil hanggang ngayon nga naman, although tanggap na ang mga gays and lesbians sa ating bansa, hindi pa rin kinikilala legally ang kanilang mga karapatan, lalo na sa pagiging magulang.

“Sa totoo lang, nakakagalit kasi we established that we can actually have a happy home.

We have a daughter that we are raising together. So, bakit hindi pa rin kami ma-recognize na kaya naming maging magulang? Just because I’m a transman, that means I can’t be a bearer?"

“So, yeah. It’s disappointing and sad. It’s disheartening that until now nangyayari pa rin ‘yun.
