“Alam ko po ‘yung nangyari sa kanilang dalawa, but that’s not my story to tell. And I will protect them,” saad niya.

Ani Karen, “Liza Soberano, what an honor it is to sit with you.”

“Ah, thank you po. It’s an honor din po to be sitting with you,” pakli naman ni Liza.

“What’s it like first to be back in the Philippines?” agad na tanong ni Karen.

Ani Liza, “It’s been great. I think this is the longest trip I’ve had since I moved to the States. So I’m so happy that finally I’m staying for more than 5 days at a time. I really miss the Philippines and I miss spending time with family and friends and on top of that I’m also promoting the movie this trip. So it’s a very special trip for me.”

Tanong pa ni Karen, “You were already a big star in the Philippines and then you suddenly took a leap of faith and in 2022 when you decided to move to the United States to pursue your dreams in Hollywood. What made it easy for you to do that? Why did you do that?”

Sagot ng aktres, “It definitely wasn’t easy. I mean, there was this time that I had, I was full of self-doubt because I didn’t know if I was good enough. I didn’t know if it was a smart move. Obviously, it’s my first time also living on my own in the States. So that was also scary being away from the family and also the way that the entertainment industry works in US is completely different from the Philippines. Although there are similarities, I think the way artists kind of manage themselves is a lot different, hands-on.”

Aniya pa, “It was really difficult because everything was new territory for me and, on top of that, obviously, there was a lot for me to look at because, like you said, I was at the top of my game when I left at that time, and so there were a lot of projects that were potentially lined up for me.

“I had ongoing endorsements but I decided to kind of put all of that on hold to pursue a career in LA (Los Angeles).”

Tanong pa ni Karen, “And how difficult was it in the beginning? What did you have to adjust to?”

Pahayag ni Liza, “I would say the biggest challenge when I first moved was really the self-confidence.”

“It’s been 4 years. When did you start to feel, ‘Hey, there’s a place for me here?’” tanong ni Karen.

Sey ng aktres, “I would say for the first two years it was still filled with a lot of uncertainty. I was just trying to figure my way out in LA. I was trying to figure out an independent lifestyle.”

The rest is history na raw.

“Sana, marami talagang genuinely supporting her success.

“She has so many potentials and nag-focus talaga s’ya sa growth. She’s also brave, nakaka-proud.”

“Not everyone has that kind of courage to step out of their comfort zone and face uncertainty. Rooting for you, Liza.”

“She seems wiser now. Grabe, ‘di s’ya nakakasawang pagmasdan.”

“She’s a hardworking, humble person.”

“She is very good with her words. Liza is not just a visual, and I understand her point when it comes to dreaming, aspiring and setting goals. We are the only ones who hold ourselves back.”
