Hello, Bulgarians! Nakatakdang maglabas ng state pension fund ang Government Service Insurance System (GSIS) ng kabuuang P10 milyon sa 25 pampublikong paaralan sa pakikipagtulungan ng Department of Education (DepEd) sa ilalim ng Adopt-A-School Program (ASP). Ang aktibidad ay bahagi ng corporate social responsibility ng GSIS.
“We share President Ferdinand Marcos, Jr.’s belief that education is the ‘bedrock of a prosperous society’. Our public schools need our support and assistance especially after the reopening of face-to-face classes in November. In selecting the schools that do not have enough funds and must therefore be prioritized, we closely coordinated with DepEd,” pahayag ni GSIS president and general manager Wick Veloso.
Tinaasan ng GSIS ang tulong para sa bawat paaralan sa P400,000 ngayong taon mula sa P200,000 noong 2014. Sinabi ni Veloso na ang pondo ay gagamitin sa pagbibigay ng mga assistive device sa napiling paaralan tulad ng computers, internet connectivity at educational tools.
Sa National Capital Region, ang mga adopted school ay Navotas Elementary School, Constantino Elementary School sa Valenzuela City, at Laiban Integrated School sa Rizal. Habang sa Luzon, kasama sa listahan ang Calawaan Elementary School; Baccuit Elementary School; San Miguel Elementary School; National High School sa Nueva Vizcaya; at Maguyepyep Integrated School sa Abra. Kasama rin ang Haligue Silangan National High School sa Batangas City; Calpi Elementary School sa Sorsogon; Aroroy East Central School sa Masbate; Tagaytay Elementary School sa Albay; at Bagumbayan Elementary School sa Catanduanes.
Ang mga adopted school ng GSIS sa Visayas ay Celestino Diaz Integrated School sa Capiz; Manjuyod Central Elementary School sa Negros Oriental; Gaas Elementary School sa Cebu; Nahawan Elementary School sa Bohol; Hinoloasco National High School sa Eastern Samar; at Catig Primary School sa Southern Leyte at Hinoloasco National High School – Caglao-an Annex sa Eastern Samar.
Sa Mindanao, anim na adopted school na kinabibilangan ng Sinoropan National High School sa Zamboanga; Talisay National High School sa Dapitan City; Magallanes Elementary School sa Davao City; Don Reuben E. Ecleo Sr. Memorial National High School sa Dinagat Island; Surigao City National High School sa Surigao City; at Camp Edward Elementary School sa Surigao del Norte.
Mula nang ipatupad ito noong 2014, may kabuuang 85 paaralan na ang nakinabang sa programa.
