Guilty ang ibinigay na desisyon kay Roderick Paulate ng Sandiganbayan sa kasong graft and falsification by a pubic officer kaugnay ng sinasabing “ghost employees” ng aktor habang naglilingkod bilang councilor ng Quezon City noong 2010.

Lumabas ang desisyon ng Sandiganbayan noong November 25. Anim hanggang walong taon na pagkakakulong daw ang parusang ipinataw kay Roderick pati na sa liaison officer niya na si Vicente Esquilon Bajamunde para sa kasong graft.

Bukod d’yan, panghabambuhay na rin daw na ‘di puwedeng tumakbo for public office si Kuya Dick.

Plus, inutusan din sina Kuya Dick at ang liaison officer niya na magbayad ng P1.109 million with an interest of 6 percent yearly until fully paid.

At heto pa, may pagkakakulong pa mula anim na buwan hanggang anim na taon for each of the eight counts of falsification of public documents and another six months to six years of imprisonment for falsification by a public officer.

Tapos, inutusan din siya na magbayad ng P10,000 for each of the eight falsification of public documents and falsification by a public officer.

Dati na raw nadiskubre ng Ombudsman na nag-hire si Kuya Dick ng ghost employees na tumatanggap ng suweldo tuwing a-kinse at katapusan.

Ayon sa seventh division ng Sandiganbayan, napatunayan na na-violate nila ang Republic Act 3019, or the Anti-Graft and Corrupt Practices Act.

Ayon sa desisyon, “Accused Roderick Mendenilla Paulate and Vicente Esquilon Bajamunde, acting in conspiracy with one another, are found guilty beyond reasonable doubt of the offense of violation of Sec. 3(e) of R.A. 3019 and [the court is] sentencing each of them to suffer an indeterminate prison term of six (6) years and one (1) month, as minimum to eight (8) years, as maximum.”
