'Di lang nagpa-sexy, Gerald… JULIA, GAME NA GAME NA NAKIPAGTIKIMAN SA IBANG LALAKI

Overwhelmed si Julia Barretto sa naging experience niya working with the international award-winning director na si Brillante Mendoza sa latest horror film nila for Vivamax, ang Bahay na Pula.

“Nagsisimula pa lang ‘yung pelikula, parang lalabas na ‘yung puso ko,” bulalas ni Julia after ng special press preview ng Bahay na Pula.

First time ni Julia na makatrabaho si Direk Brillante. At the same time, first horror film din niya ang Bahay na Pula na magsisimulang ipalabas via streaming sa Vivamax on Friday, February 25.

“It’s my first horror film and I didn’t know what to expect. I guess I was really scared, and second, I mean, sa napanood ninyo, I am overwhelmed watching myself get out of my comfort zone.

"At the same time, I’m proud also and my experience working with direk, I think I’ll never be the same as a person, as an actor, after having that experience with direk. I just had quite… it’s a turning point. A different experience, siguro kasi nga, malayo siya sa mga nagawa ko before,” sabi ni Julia.

Mabilis itinanggi ni Julia na scary director si Direk Brillante sa set ng Bahay na Pula.

“No! Not at all,” sabay tawa ni Julia.

“Sobrang bait,” diin pa niya. “Direk is an icon. It’s a legend and we like to call him that on the set. But, what is wonderful about him is that you get to talk to him. I think, it’s a very healthy environment when you were able to have a conversation with your director, with the captain of the ship. And you know, when they would always say 'Who’s that one person you have so much impact in your life?' I would say, it’s Direk Brillante. He doesn’t realize it, but I just never felt the same when I got to the shooting of the film.”

“I think ang maganda naman sa nangyari here was you know, besides coming out of my comfort zone, it was nice na merong collaboration with direk and the producer, and everybody involve, the things I’m comfortable doing and the things I am not.

“I can’t take away the fact you know, there were some scenes na I did for the first time. But you know, we’re growing old and we're growing up and if I wanna be really committed and passionate with my craft then, uhm, it’s a job that I have to take,” paliwanag pa ni Julia.
