Sa inilabas na vlog ni Jessy Mendiola nitong Lunes (December 14), inilahad niya ang totoong nangyari sa kanya at sa kanyang good friend na jeweler behind the controversial diamond engagement ring na ipinagawa ng boyfriend niyang si Luis Manzano para sa kanya.

Sa umpisang kuwento ni Jessy sa kanyang vlog, “Luis had the ring made last September, 2019. He bought the diamond from Radiant Lux Jewelry and nabayaran niya nang buo ‘yung diamond na ‘yun."

Subali't sa 'di inaasahang pagkakataon at ayon na rin sa kanyang pagri-reveal sa kanyang vlog, sinabi niyang sila ni Luis ay nag-break nitong nakaraang May, 2020. And at that time she was feeling down, Jessy said she leaned on that friend (jeweler from Radiant Lux).

“Unfortunately, maraming bagay ang nangyari. May, 2020, Luis and I went through something to the point na naghiwalay kami and this person from Radiant Lux Jewelry was a good friend of mine. I trusted her. We both trusted her, Luis and I. We had good faith in her that’s why siguro Luis chose her to make my ring kasi friend ko siya. Well, she was my friend."

Pagpapatuloy pa niya, “Nu’ng naghiwalay kami ni Luis, when we were trying to… kumbaga, ‘yung taong ‘to, nandu’n siya for me, hindi ko alam ‘yung intensiyon niya nu’ng time na ‘yun, ‘yung purpose niya nu’ng time na ‘yun, but she was there as a friend."

Ayon pa sa aktres, lingid sa kanyang kaalaman, kinukulit na raw ng nasabing friend si Luis na bayaran na ang ring sa panahong 'malabo' pa ang relasyon nila at nataon pa sa panahon ng pandemya.

“I just found out about this nu’ng magkaayos na kami ni Luis na during the time na hindi pala kami okay — siyempre, ‘yung ring, fully-paid na — she kept badgering Luis to get the ring even nu’ng hindi pa kami okay ni Luis.”

Naiintindihan naman daw ni Jessy kung bakit wala nang kainte-interes si Luis na kunin pa ang nasabing diamond ring dahil inakala niyang hindi na sila magkakabalikan pa?

But Jessy said she didn’t expect that her friend would show her the ring out of the blue when her friend knew that things aren’t well between them.

“Dumating sa point na for whatever reason, I don’t know kung ano ‘yun, she showed me the ring. And she opened the box in front of me knowing na hindi kami okay ni Luis. She let me wear the ring,” kuwento pa ni Jessy.

“So, can you imagine the feeling ng babae na hindi kayo ayos nu’ng boyfriend mo, tapos ipinasuot sa 'yo ‘yung ring? Naisip mo what could’ve been na kung okay kaya kami ni Luis, magpo-propose kaya siya? Kailangan bang umabot sa ganitong point na ibang tao ‘yung magsasabi sa akin?”

Kaya ipinasya raw ni Jessy na ibalik sa box ang singsing, pero hindi dahil sa hindi niya ito gusto, kundi nagtataka siya sa rason ng kaibigan kung bakit ipinakita sa kanya ang ring.

Kung may katotohanan man sa claim ng Radiant Lux Jewelry being the original creator of her ring, inamin ni Jessy na ang Manila Diamond Studio ang tumulong sa kanila para ma-reset ito.

Admitting that she feels hurt about the fact that one of the greatest surprises of her life was ruined, paliwanag ng aktres, “The reason why we had to have my ring reset is all here in this vlog. While Radiant Lux Jewelry is claiming that they were the original creators of the ring, the jeweler of the said jewelry shop broke client privilege by telling me about the ring way BEFORE Luis got the chance to propose, ruining what was supposed to be one of the greatest surprises in my life.” katwiran pa ni Jessy.

Dinepensahan naman ni Jessy si Luis over his decision to have her engagement ring “reset.”

“Luis bought the ring and paid for it in full and is, by right, the owner of the diamond, which means he can choose to do whatever he wants to do with it. Manila Diamond Studio was kind enough to help us by having the ring reset to erase unfortunate memories and start anew."

Himutok ni Jessy sa Radiant Lux Jewelry over claims, “It is heartbreaking that there are people like this who would go extra lengths to destroy other people’s happiness. We chose to keep quiet about this but now that they won’t stop posting about it, we want people to hear our side."
