Kinuwestiyon ng Law Firm of Torreon & Partners ang legal na batayan ng inanunsyong P50 milyong "bounty" o pabuya ng Department of the Interior and Local Government (DILG) para sa pagdakip kay Sen. Ronald “Bato” dela Rosa.
“P50 million for which case? Every peso of a government reward must answer one question: For the arrest of whom, in what case, by order of what court? In the case of Sen. dela Rosa, the government cannot answer it,” saad ng law firm sa isang Facebook post.
Giit nila, tanging arrest warrant lamang mula sa International Criminal Court (ICC) ang mayroon ang gobyerno.
“[The ICC] is a foreign tribunal under a treaty the Philippines withdrew from effective March 17, 2019. No Philippine judge has examined that warrant, adopted it, or issued one of his own.
“Show the warrant. Show the case. Show the circular… If it cannot produce these, then the P50 million is not a reward under Philippine law. It is a price placed on a sitting senator’s head, paid for by the Filipino people, for the benefit of a foreign court,” nakasaad pa sa nasabing post.
