Pinasinayaan ng Metropolitan Manila Development Authority (MMDA) ang bagong pedestrian footbridge na may bubong at ilaw sa Visayas Avenue, sa harap ng Maria Montessori School sa Quezon City, kahapon.


Nabatid na umaabot sa 1,655 pedestrian at halos 35,896 sasakyan ang dumaraan sa naturang kalsada bawat araw, dahilan upang higit na kailanganin ang ligtas na tawiran, lalo na matapos ang isang aksidente na kinasangkutan ng isang guro noong Enero 2024.

“Ang footbridge na ito ay magbibigay ng ligtas na pasilidad para sa mga mag-aaral, guro, at residente sa lugar na ito,” ayon kay MMDA Chairman Atty. Romando Artes.


Sa ngayon, nakapagtayo na ang MMDA ng 140 pedestrian footbridges sa buong Metro Manila.
