Babala ng PSA… P500K multa sa hindi tatanggap ng Phil. ID

Muling pinaalalahanan ng Philippine Statistics Authority (PSA) ang mga government agencies at private entities na maaari silang mapatawan ng hanggang P500,000 sa sandaling hindi i-honor ang Philippine Identification (PhilID) card.


Batay sa Republic Act No. 11055 o ang Philippine Identification System (PhilSys), “PhilID or the national ID is a valid proof of identity and must be accepted in all transactions.”


Sa isang social media post noong November 10, ipinahayag ng PSA na sa ilalim ng PhilSys Act, ang PhilID ay magsisilbing official government-issued identification document sa mga government at private transactions.


“The PhilID Card shall be accepted as sufficient proof identity, without the need to present any other identification documents,” saad sa pahayag.


Mayroong penalty ang refusal to accept, acknowledge at/o pag-recognize sa PhilID card na nagkakahalagang PHP500,000.


Kung ang lumabag naman ay isang government official o employee, kasama sa penalty ay ang disqualification na magkaroon ng kahit anong posisyon sa public office o employment sa gobyerno, kabilang ang mga government-owned and controlled corporations at mga subsidiaries nito.


As of October 31, at least 3.1 million PhilID cards na ang nai-deliver ng Philippine Postal Corporation habang 40,264,550 naman ang nakakumpleto na ng kanilang registration process.
