Sa pitong taon ni Moira dela Torre sa industriya ay hindi pa rin nagbabago ang ugali niya dahil mahiyain pa rin tulad nu’ng una siyang ipakilala ng Cornerstone Entertainment sa media.
Ang napansing pagbabago sa singer/songwriter ay ang kanyang katawan dahil ang laki ng ipinayat niya kumpara dati.
Aniya, “Not just what happened physically, but the healing I experienced inside. I definitely changed a lot since the major weight loss.”
Marahil, isa rin sa mga nakatulong sa kanya para sa weight loss niya ay ang laging busy lalo na ngayong Abril para sa US concert tour niya.
“Tinatapos ko rin ang album so I’m in a work mood. That does make me feel good accomplishing things and finishing something I started.
“I know matagal nang dapat matapos ang album. But I know good things take time. After a long time of waiting, that makes me feel very good,” kuwento ng mang-aawit.
Pero inamin din ng isa sa mga prime artists ng Cornerstone Entertainment na hindi rin naging madali ang ginawa niya para sa physical change.
Say pa ni Moira, “In 2020, I started all these diets. I went vegan, keto. I’ve tried intermittent. When I stopped putting pressure on myself and started allowing myself to just be me, that was when I stopped feeling the pressure.
“Kumalma ang katawan ko and I started losing weight gradually. Alam ng katawan mo kapag naaalagaan siya nang tama. Alam ng katawan natin kapag minamahal siya nang tama.” Dagdag pa, “Don’t be too hard on yourself. I know that’s such a cliché thing, but to be honest, how I started losing weight, it was when I stopped trying.
“I’m just very, very thankful that the change happened so gradually. It wasn’t anything quick. It started from within. Ang daming magagandang change na nagbago. I didn’t realize this was something I could do.”
Pagdidiin pa ng singer, “Self love is not a selfish thing. To the people who are trying to lose weight, I want you to care more about yourself. It had to take so much time to think that I was beautiful before. And then, the physical change happened. We are beautiful. For people who are going on a journey that I have been on, don’t be too hard on yourself. Be unapologetic when it comes to choosing yourself. It’s not a bad thing.”
Hindi rin itinanggi ng mang-aawit na malaki ang naitulong sa kanya ng produktong ineendorso niya.
Kuwento pa ni Moira, “Kaya po hirap akong tumanggap ng endorsements kasi ginagamit ko talaga para mai-share ko rin sa iba.
“I will not take full credit for what I have now. I relate very much with the vision that Bona Slim (15 in one coffee) had. They gave me so much creative freedom.
“The whole family (Cerezo family) welcomed me. They were at every shoot. They were at every meeting. I’m very, very grateful.
“Ang laki ng tiwalang ibinigay nila sa akin. I really felt it. They didn’t just get me as endorser, but they really trusted what I could give. That included my songwriting.
“When we went to the studio, I really felt (the) respect and I really, really appreciated that. I love that they gave me their message and how we could address it and how to put it into a song.”
Say naman ni CEO Jethro Cerezo, “Bona Slim wanted to get a brand ambassador that will really convey the message that the company – Bona Vita Philippines – really wants to put out. “Bona Slim is about confidence. It’s about what you really want for yourself. Personally, I really handpicked Moira. I believe in her story. Her wholistic way of being healthy and being confident.
It’s a blessing.
