2M COVID-19 vax doses, expired na sa Hunyo 30 — DOH

Nasa tinatayang 2 milyon na COVID-19 vaccine doses ang inaasahang mag-e-expire kung hindi pa rin magagamit hanggang Hunyo 30, ayon sa Department of Health (DOH).


Gayunman, sinabi ni DOH Undersecretary Myrna Cabotaje na hindi pa dalawang milyong doses ang pinal o kabuuang bilang ng COVID-19 vaccine.


“Sa ating expiring na vaccine, we will have the final numbers by end of May. But hanggang June we are expecting kung hindi ma-jab almost 2 million kung hindi magamit by end of June,” saad ni Cabotaje sa Laging Handa briefing.


Ayon kay Cabotaje, nagsumite na ang DOH ng demand forecast ng 34 million doses. “Ito ‘yung parang pang palit, ‘yung nag-expire na at saka ‘yung pwede pa [at] mga pa-expire, which includes brands such as Sinovac, AstraZeneca, and Pfizer,” pahayag ng opisyal.


“From the communication we received from COVAX, replacement for vaccine includes vaccines from all sources, so hindi lang po ‘yung galing sa kanila, but they will also consider some of the vaccines that have been procured by the national government, even our private sector, and our local government,” dagdag niya.


Samantala, binanggit ni Cabotaje na nasa mahigit 73.7 milyong indibidwal ang nabakunahan ng unang dose habang 69.1 milyon naman ang fully vaccinated na laban sa virus. Aniya pa, nasa tinatayang 200,000 indibidwal ang nababakunahan kada araw laban sa COVID-19.
