12-anyos pababa, bawal na sa harap ng sasakyan

Ipatutupad na ang Car Seat Law o ang pagbabawal sa mga 12-anyos pababa na umupo sa front seats ng mga pampribadong sasakyan simula bukas, February 2 at sa halip ay pauupuin ang mga ito sa child restraint systems (CRS) bilang bahagi ng Child Safety in Motor Vehicles Act.


Pahayag ni Land Transportation Office (LTO) Law Enforcement Service Deputy Director Robert Valera,


"Child restraints in cars are intended to keep a child firmly secured in their seats so that in case of sudden braking or collision, the child would not be fatally thrown away against the car interior or ejected from the vehicle.”


Sa ilalim ng implementing rules and regulations, ang mga drivers na lalabag ay pagmumultahin ng P1,000 sa unang paglabag; P2,000 sa ikalawang paglabag; at P3,000 at one-year suspension ng driver’s license para sa ikatlo at mga susunod pang paglabag.


Samantala, nilinaw ni Valera na makakatanggap lamang ng warning at hindi pa huhulihin ang mga lalabag sa naturang batas sa loob ng 3 buwan.


Aniya, "The enforcement is not only about apprehension. It also covers information dissemination as well as warning. Instead of issuing initially a TOP (temporary operator's permit) or a show cause order, we will be on the warning mode as well as information dissemination.”
