Duda si Senate President Alan Cayetano kaugnay sa umano’y security threat na iniulat ng National Bureau of Investigation (NBI) sa Senado.

“If the threat is credible, then every senator, every member of the secretariat, and every individual who works within these walls deserves to be informed and protected. Security is not the concern of one bloc. It is the concern of the entire Senate,” wika ni Cayetano.

Giit din niya na hindi lamang isang grupo o bloc sa Senado ang dapat mabahala sa usapin ng seguridad kundi ang buong institusyon.

Kinuwestiyon din niya kung bakit ilang senador lamang umano ang nakatanggap ng impormasyon mula sa NBI habang ang iba ay hindi.

Kasabay nito, binigyang-diin ni Cayetano na hindi mula sa Office of the Sergeant-at-Arms ng Senado nanggaling ang impormasyon kundi mula sa NBI.

“And we must be candid about the source of this 'threat'. It did not come from the Senate’s own Office of the Sergeant-at-Arms, the office constitutionally charged with protecting this institution. It came from the NBI—and any honest accounting requires us to weigh that source carefully,” punto ni Cayetano.

Samantala, nagpalabas ng magkahiwalay na kautusan sina Cayetano at Gatchalian hinggil sa pagbabago sa work arrangement sa Senado ngayong linggo.

Nag-atas si Cayetano ng pinaikling oras ng pagtatrabaho bilang paghahanda sa paggunita ng Araw ng Kalayaan sa June 12.

Samantala, nag-utos naman si Gatchalian ng dalawang araw na work-from-home setup simula bukas, June 10 hanggang June 11, bunsod ng natanggap na ulat ukol sa potensyal na banta sa seguridad ng institusyon.
