Wala raw ebidensiya laban sa kanya… GRETCHEN, TODO-ASANG MAKAKALUSOT SA MISSING SABUNGEROS

Binasag na ni Gretchen Barretto ang kanyang pananahimik sa pamamagitan ng kanyang abogado sa pagsangkot sa kanya sa mga nawawalang higit 100 sabungero.

Naglabas ng official statement ang legal counsel ni La Greta na si Atty. Alma Mallonga on behalf of her pagkatapos na ihayag ng Department of Justice (DOJ) na isa siya sa mga suspek sa kaso ng mga nawawalang sabungero.

Iginiit ni Atty. Mallonga na “plain suspicion” lamang daw ang mga sinabi ng supposed whistleblower. Hindi raw na-witness ng whistleblower anumang ginawa o sinabi ni Gretchen tungkol sa pagkawala ng mga sabungero.

“The whistleblower maliciously speculates she must nonetheless somehow be involved because of her close connection with Mr. Atong Ang. He insists that Ms. Barretto, being an ‘alpha member’ of Pitmaster, must know everything that is happening. He has even changed his story, now characterizing Ms. Barretto as a ‘mastermind’ based on suspicion and illogical reasoning,” pahayag ni Atty. Mallonga.

Bilang paglilinaw, nabalitaan lang daw ni Gretchen ang tungkol sa mga pagkawala.

Depensa ni Atty. Mallonga, “She did not operate the sabungan, had no participation in e-sabong (online sabong) operations that was suspended more than two years ago, and was merely an investor in the business (one of about 20 investors categorized as alpha members). She attended no meetings where approvals were sought nor given to implement the disappearances. The proposition is so absurd, it is a plain invention.

“Ms. Barretto regrets that she is being crucified without basis, and has become the subject of unsavory speculation based on rumor. Ms. Barretto understands the importance of resolving the case. The sabungeros and their families deserve to know the truth, and they deserve closure because their lives matter. Justice can only be served by a responsible and thorough investigation of the case based on evidence and facts. Wishful thinking borne out of malicious desperation and speculation are not evidence.

“Ms. Barretto confirms there was an attempt to extort money from her, with an offer to exclude her name from the list of suspects if she paid. She refused because she had done nothing wrong.

“Ms. Barretto awaits the results of the investigation and will fully cooperate in the process. This is her priority.”

Nakikiusap si Atty. Mallonga sa mga awtoridad na maging patas, at para sa publiko, huwag daw agad magbigay ng hatol sa kanyang kliyente.

Sa huling bahagi ng official statement ng kampo ni La Greta, naniniwala raw si Gretchen na ang isang “objective investigation” ay magpapatunay sa kanyang kawalan ng pagkakasangkot sa kaso at sa hindi patas at kamalian ng mga akusasyon laban sa kanya.

Sa kabila ng depensa ng kampo ni Gretchen, patuloy pa rin sa pag-post ng negatibong comment ang mga netizens. 

Sey nila, “Magsalita ka na, ipinagpalit ka na ni Atong Ang.”

“Tumakas ka na hanggang maaga pa. Hahaha!”
