Voter registration, bukas na uli

Simula sa susunod na buwan, bukas na ang voter registration nang Lunes hanggang Biyernes para sa lahat ng kababayan na nais magparehistro, ayon sa Commission on Elections (Comelec).

Inayos ang iskedyul nito upang bigyang-daan ang ginagawang disinfection sa iba’t ibang lugar tuwing Sabado, ayon kay Comelec Spokesperson James Jimenez.

“The Commission on Elections deems it necessary to revert to the weekday schedule to make way for Saturday disinfection days in all offices of the Election Officer nationwide,” pahayag ni Jimenez.

Noong September 1, ipinagpatuloy ang voter registration na isinasagawa mula Martes hanggang Sabado.

“Beginning November 9, 2020, the conduct of voter registration will be from Mondays to Fridays, 8 a.m. to 3 p.m.,” sabi ni Jimenez.

Aniya pa, nananatiling suspendido ang voter registration, sang-ayon sa Resolution No. 10674, sa mga kritikal na lugar at nasa ilalim ng ipinatutupad na enhanced community quarantine (ECQ).

Gayundin, pinapayuhan ni Jimenez ang publiko na mag-ingat na hindi mahawa sa COVID-19 at sumunod sa mga health at safety protocols.

“Wearing of face mask and face shield is mandatory, the number of people to be allowed inside the Comelec office will be limited to ensure compliance with physical distancing requirements, and applicants are encouraged to bring their own pens,” ani Jimenez.

Samantala, aabot ang voter registration nang hanggang September 30, 2021. Nag-abiso na rin ang ahensiya na pansamantalang suspendido ang voter registration sa October 31 bilang paggunita sa All Saints' Day at All Souls' Day.

“Voter registration will resume the following Tuesday, November 3, 2020,” dagdag niya.
