Unang payout… P141M educational aid, naibigay sa mahihirap na estudyante — DSWD

Nasa mahigit P141 milyon cash assistance para sa mga indigent na mga estudyante ang naibigay na ng Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD) bago pa ang pagbubukas ng mga klase sa Lunes, Agosto 22. Sa isang Facebook post, ipinakita ni DSWD Undersecretary Jerico Javier ang data, kung saan ang ahensiya ay nakapag-disburse ng kabuuang P141,049,500 na educational aid para sa 48,033 beneficiaries ng hanggang alas-2:30 ng madaling-araw ng Linggo, Agosto 21. Ang breakdown ng unang payout ng cash aid ay ang mga sumusunod:


• National Capital Region: P4,191,000 sa 1,594 recipients

• Cordillera Administrative Region: P3,706,500 sa 1,124 recipients

• Central Office (Quezon City):P7,844,000 sa 2,149 recipients

• Region 1 (Ilocos Region): P20,422,000 sa 5,715 recipients

• Region 2 (Cagayan): P10,563,000 sa 4,360 recipients

• Region 3 (Central Luzon): P7,154,000 sa 2,661 recipients

• Region 4A (Calabarzon): P14,292,000 sa 5,019 recipients

• Region 4B (Mimaropa): P5,629,000 sa 2,483 recipients

• Region 5 (Bicol Region): P8,131,000 sa 2,832 recipients

• Region 6 (Western Visayas): P20,760,000 sa 5,144 recipients

• Region 7 (Central Visayas): P7,234,000 sa 3,339 recipients

• Region 8 (Eastern Visayas): P4,897,000 sa 1,627 recipients

• Region 9 (Zamboanga Peninsula): P2,801,000 sa 949 recipients

• Region 10 (Northern Mindanao): P7,654,000 sa 2,306 recipients

• Region 11 (Davao Region): P6,358,000 sa 2,760 recipients • Region 12 (Soccsksargen): P8,694,000 sa 3,755 recipients

• Region 13 (Caraga Region): P719,000 sa 216 recipients Sa isang mensahe naman ni DSWD Secretary Erwin Tulfo, sinabi nitong ang iba pang regions sa Mindanao ay inaasistehan ang mga estudyante na nakabase sa Bangsamoro Region. “Regions 9, 10, 11, and 12 taking care of it. Mga provinces under BARMM will be taken care of by those regional offices. Like Jolo and Basilan under Region 9,” pahayag ni Tulfo. Una nang binanggit ni Tulfo na ang DSWD ay magbibigay ng P1,000 para sa elementary students, P2,000 para sa high school students, P3,000 para sa senior high school students, at P4,000 para sa college students o vocational courses tuwing Sabado hanggang Setyembre 24. Kaugnay nito, ang DSWD ay nagpatulong na sa Department of the Interior and Local Government (DILG) para sa distribusyon ng education assistance sa pamamagitan ng local government units (LGUs) matapos na maraming benepisyaryong mga estudyante at mga magulang ay nabigong makaabot sa cutoff nitong Sabado dahil sa pagdagsa ng mga gustong makatanggap ng nasabing ayuda.
