Naglabas ang Department of Trade and Industry (DTI) ng updated na listahan ng suggested retail prices (SRP) ng mga pangunahing bilihin at iba pang pangangailangan, habang inaprubahan ang taas-presyo nito para sa 82 items.
Sa isang statement ngayong Biyernes, sinabi ng DTI na mula sa 218 stock keeping units (SKUs) sa retail price guide list, 62% o 136 items ay pinanatili ang kanilang kasalukuyang price levels na umiiral simula pa Enero ngayong taon.
Ayon sa DTI, aprubado na ang “minimum increase” para naman sa natitirang 38% o 82 SKUs, sa pinakabagong SRP list.
Kabilang sa mga produktong inaprubahan para sa SRP hikes ay tinapay, canned fish, potable water na nasa mga bottles at containers, processed milk, locally manufactured instant noodles, kape, asin, laundry soap, detergent, mga kandila, flour, processed at canned pork, processed at canned beef, suka, patis, toyo, toilet soap, at batteries.
Ayon pa sa DTI, ang halaga ng 71 mula sa 82 SKUs ay nagdagdag ng kanilang presyo mula 2% hanggang 10%.
Gayunman, giit ng DTI ang naturang price increase ay mas mababa pa rin kumpara sa global price movement ng mga raw materials.
“To illustrate, the prices of major raw materials like tamban (for canned fish products), mechanically deboned meat (for processed meat products), buttermilk (for processed milk), and palm oil (for toilet paper and instant noodles) increased by 0.56% to 32.14%. Additionally, fuel prices went up by 28.84%,” pahayag ng DTI.
Binanggit naman ng DTI na ang price guide ay maaaring ma-access ng publiko sa DTI website.
“The Department carefully evaluates the requests for price adjustments from the manufacturers of BNPCs under the DTI’s jurisdiction. It is imperative that the DTI and the industry collaborate to ensure the consumers of high-quality products at affordable prices,” saad ni DTI Secretary Ramon Lopez.
“Despite the adjustments in several basic and prime goods, the DTI assures the public that all increases in the SRPs were kept to a minimum level to provide consumers with reasonably-priced goods amidst the pandemic,” dagdag ni DTI Undersecretary Ruth Castelo.
