Itinalaga ni Pangulong Ferdinand “Bongbong” Marcos Jr. si Renato Solidum Jr. bilang chief ng Department of Science and Technology (DOST).

Ito ang kinumpirma ni Press Secretary Trixie Cruz-Angeles ngayong Biyernes.

Bago ang na-appoint sa posisyon, si Solidum ay nagsilbi bilang chief ng Philippine Institute of Volcanology and Seismology (PHIVOLCS).
