Senate ila-lockdown… Senators Ejercito at Binay, nagpositibo sa test sa COVID-19

Nagpositibo sa test sina Senators JV Ejercito at Nancy Binay sa COVID-19.

“Tested positive for COVID-19 according to RT-PCR test yesterday morning, result of which was e-mailed late last night,” ani Ejercito sa isang Viber message sa GMA News ngayong Biyernes.

“No symptoms at all. Just had myself tested yesterday because so many senators are now positive,” dagdag niya.

Sa hiwalay na Viber message din, kinumpirma naman ni Binay na nagpositibo siya sa test sa COVID-19.

“I am currently at home under quarantine, and strictly following recommended protocols, including health and safety procedures,” sabi ni Binay.

Sa ngayon, pitong senador na ang tinamaan ng respiratory disease sa pagsisimula pa lang ng 19th Congress.

Kasunod ng infection ng COVID-19 sa mga senador, sinabi naman ni Senate President Juan Miguel Zubiri ngayon ding Biyernes na magpapatupad sila ng lockdown sa Lunes upang magsagawa ng disinfection sa gusali.

“I have instructed the Secretariat to conduct a thorough cleaning and disinfection of all Senate offices. For this reason, there will be a total lockdown of our Senate building and all Senate employees shall work from home and need not report to the Senate on Monday,” pahayag ni Zubiri sa mga reporters sa isang Viber message.

Aniya pa, ang Senate session ay magpapatuloy sa Martes, Agosto 23.

Nitong Huwebes ng gabi, inanunsiyo ni Senate Majority Leader Joel Villanueva na tinamaan na rin siya ng COVID-19.

Kaugnay nito, ang mga senador na nag-positive sa test sa COVID-19 ay sina Senators Grace Poe, Cynthia Villar, Imee Marcos at Alan Peter Cayetano.

Gayunman, si Cayetano ay nakarekober na sa naturang sakit. Nagsimula na siya dumalo sa mga Senate sessions physically noong Lunes.
