Para sa Metro Manila Subway project… Meralco Avenue section, isasara — DOTr

Isasara simula sa susunod na buwan ang north at southbound lanes ng isang section ng Meralco Avenue sa Pasig City para magbigay-daan sa konstruksyon ng Metro Manila Subway Project-Shaw Boulevard Station (MMSP), ayon sa Department of Transportation (DOTr) ngayong Linggo.

Sa isang advisory, sinabi ng DOTr na ang front section ng Capitol Commons hanggang sa corner ng Shaw Boulevard ay hindi na madaraanan ng mga motorista simula Oktubre 3, 2022 hanggang 2028.

“Meralco Avenue will serve as the project’s access point to the subway’s Shaw Boulevard Station,” pahayag ng DOTr.

“Motorists are advised to take alternative routes to be provided by the Metro Manila Development Authority (MMDA), Land Transportation Franchising and Regulatory Board (LTFRB), and the City Governments of Pasig and Mandaluyong,” dagdag ng ahensiya.

Ayon sa DOTr, magkakaroon ng traffic rerouting schemes para sa mga public utility jeepneys, modernized jeepneys, UV expresses vehicles/units, at mga pribadong sasakyan.

Ang mga Public Utility Jeepneys (PUJs): mula Meralco Avenue patungong Shaw Boulevard ay ire-reroute sa Captain Henry Javier Street sa Danny Floro Street at vice versa.

Ang mga Modernized Jeepneys: mula Meralco Avenue patungong Shaw Boulevard ay ire-reroute sa Dona Julia Vargas Avenue sa San Miguel Avenue at vice versa.

Ang mga UV Expresses Vehicles/Units: mula Meralco Avenue patungong Shaw Boulevard ay ire-reroute sa Dona Julia Vargas Avenue sa San Miguel Avenue o Anda Road sa Camino Verde.

Para sa mga private vehicles, lahat ng available na ruta ay accessible.

Kinilala bilang “Project of the Century”, ayon sa DOTr, ang MMSP ang magiging kauna-unahang underground mass transit system sa Pilipinas.

“Funded by the Japanese government, the subway is a 33-kilometer rail line that will stretch from Valenzuela City to the Ninoy Aquino International Airport (NAIA) Terminal 3 in Pasay City, reducing travel time between Quezon City and NAIA from 1 hour and 10 minutes to just 35 minutes,” sabi ng DOTr.

“Once operational, the 33-km underground mass system will cut across eight cities in Metro Manila, passing three central business districts, and service up to 370,000 passengers daily,” dagdag pa nito.
