P10 M, ibinigay na sa weightlifter… Ramon Ang kay Diaz: Isa pang gold medal sa Paris Olympics

Ipinagkaloob na ni San Miguel Corp. (SMC) President Ramon Ang ngayong Martes ang P10 million check na kanyang ipinangako kay Olympic gold medalist Hidilyn Diaz.

Sa isang pahayag, hinamon naman ni Ang si Diaz na kuhanin ang isa pang gold medal sa Paris na magaganap tatlong taon mula ngayon, kung saan ang Pilipinas ay sasabak sa ika-100th taon ng partisipasyon sa quadrennial meet.

“Hidilyn is the country’s trailblazer in our successful Olympic gold medal quest. After years of heartbreaks, she came through for us and we are very thankful as a nation. We encourage her to go for another gold and inspire more athletes to believe that they can achieve more,” sabi ni Ang.

“Her victory comes at a very crucial point in our country’s history when we are grappling with a pandemic and a lot of Filipinos are looking for hope as we fight this virus and cope with the difficulties it has brought,” dagdag pa ni Ang.

Bukod kay Diaz, ang mga boxers na sina Carlo Paalam at Nesthy Petecio ay makatatanggap bawat isa ng P5 milyon mula kay Ang sa pagwawagi nila ng silver medals, habang P2 milyon naman ang ibibigay kay bronze medal-winning boxer Eumir Marcial.
