P-BBM, lumipad patungong Thailand para sa APEC Summit

Umalis na ng bansa si Pangulong Ferdinand “Bongbong” Marcos Jr. patungong Bangkok, Thailand ngayong Miyerkules para lumahok sa Asia-Pacific Economic Cooperation 2022 (APEC) Leaders’ Summit na gaganapin sa Nobyembre 18 hanggang 19.

Inaasahan na si Pangulong Marcos ay magkakaroon ng nasa 6 bilateral meetings sa sidelines ng nasabing summit, kung saan dadaluhan ng mga leaders at representatives mula sa 21 member economies, kabilang na rito ang Pilipinas.

Umaasa naman ang Punong Ehekutibo na ang partisipasyon niya sa APEC Summit at iba pang meetings ay magdudulot ng aniya, “put some meat” mula sa kanyang mga tinalakay kasama ang iba pang mga leader sa ginanap na 40th at 41st ASEAN Summits and Related Summits sa Cambodia noong nakaraang linggo.

“I hope to build upon the discussions that we had during the ASEAN Summit. There are many, as I mentioned when I first arrived from Cambodia, from Phnom Penh, it is very clear that there are many areas of consensus between our countries in the Asia-Pacific, Indo-Pacific region, and that is what I hope to build on,” pahayag ni Pangulong Marcos sa kanyang departure speech.

“We have established that those are the common concerns of all the leaders, of all the countries around the region, and I am hoping now to put some meat on those very preliminary discussions that we have had. I believe that that is also what other leaders are intending to do, and I hope to report good progress when I come back from Bangkok,” dagdag pa ni P-BBM.

Sinabi ng Pangulo na dadalhin niya ang pangarap na isang “peaceful and prosperous” na Asia-Pacific region.

Ayon pa sa Chief Executive, makikipagpulong din siya sa mga Thai businessmen upang makakuha ng mga oportunidad na makatutulong para i-promote ang Pilipinas.

Gayundin, makikipagkita si Pangulong Marcos sa Filipino community sa Thailand.
